WoW is a game and is not a job. Although this may sound obvious to many of you, think about how you spend your time in WoW. You log on and farm something (honor or money) so you can get more gear to better farm something else.
This lead me to a very profound rhetorical question. Am I the only person who actually enjoys playing WoW without considering it a real grind?
Take for instance, honor. During the past couple weeks, I've been gathering a lot of it. Why? Simple.
AV has snowballs in it!
Those things are so damn fun, I don't care if we win or lose, if we get 500 honor or 100 honor, there's absolutely nothing that compare to running across a blood elf paladin in Icewing Bunker, seeing he has Forbearance on (so you know he can't bubble) and pegging that bastid in the face with a snowball. You can't help but laugh in glee as you know he's screaming at his computer as he falls to his eventual, inevitable death. Do I get full honor for the kill? Nope, but hot damn it's fun.
As for PvE fun, it's just a matter of finding like-minded people and then having your fun. I've found some really fun guys and tried some really crazy stuff. My personal favorite was "Kill all the Black Morass trash in one pull." We failed miserably at it, I think we killed ONE mob before the rest wiped us out, but it was still awesome. Other various entertainment options have included "Hey let's kite a Fel Reaver to the PvP battlemasters in Shattrath", "I wonder if I can solo Stratholme", and "I bet that 72 elite doesn't hit that hard... OH CRAP HE DOES!" As you can guess, not all have been successful achievements, but every one of them has been a fun time.
I guess my point is, if you're an Achievement oriented personality it's very easy to get sucked into the grind aspect of WoW and lose out on the fun, but I dearly hope I'm not the only one who actually finds this game to be... a fun game. Nothing more, nothing less, and exactly what I'm looking for.
