GM Island gone?
Well, I'm not sure if WorldofWar.net allows discussions of secret/hidden/unfinished areas, so if you don't, just close it. And let me say that I used absolutely NO hacks to reach any secret areas.
I decided to go exploring the other day with a friend. We visited the islands below Tanaris, which was sort of cool (except that there were ?? mobs and we were lvl 1). After we died, I promised him I'd take him to GM Island the next day (yesterday).
So, yesterday we set off. We began swimming north-west from Teldrassil until we almost hit the northern edge of the map, then went west from there. We swam for about 15 minutes when we hit the western edge.
Well, anyone who has MapViewer (while it was still working) knows that GM Island was in the northwest corner of Kalimdor, so it would be almost impossible to miss it using my method.
Well, I decided to go slightly south just incase. And, nothing.
I noticed when I opened my map that the new zones are placed very close to where GM Island should be. Perhaps close enough to see the hills of GM Island in the distance.
After considering this, I think one of the major parts of 2.0.1 was removing or moving GM Island. It doesn't appear to exist where it did..
Has anyone else noticed this? And did you happen to stumble upon the new location of GM Island?

I'm very curious how you survived swimming that far out
I'm waiting for mapview to be updated to find out if it's there or not.
In related news it looks like they fixed the terrain trick that lets you get into Mt. Hyjal. I haven't tried any of the other secret areas yet.

Designer's Island and the small Outland-like island appear to be gone too. I just swam out and it seems a large chunk of the map has been removed.
And as for my method, I'd rather not post it. If the info gets out, Blizz will fix it, and we won't be able to do it. But it's pretty simple to figure out..
Edit: I will post images of the edge of the map where the water stops, and my character stuck at the edge, and then dead. Give me a few minutes to convert and upload them..
Edit: No images to post. I lost my copy of Photoshop so I can't convert the TGA files, sorry.

Is anyone really surprised that Blizzard was forced to remove areas of the map players were forbidden to go but insisted on trying to get to anyway? Yeah... no real surprise here.
If this is the same 'GM Island' I've read about I believe that them finding you there is a ban-able offense.
So relax, it was for your own good.

GM Isle has been seperated from Kalimdor by a big white emptiness space for about a year now you can't swim to it the only way there now would be a teleport hack but it is still in the north-western most tip.
The 'old' Outland was removed about a year ago also around the same time the expansion was announced and Tigole posted on the FoH forums that it was just something a developer had fun with what he had. Designer and Programmer Isle have been instanced from the regular continents for even longer but are still in the game files.
