New Purchasable PvP Gear, Where is the rest?

First and foremost I would hope that this hasn't been posted anywhere else, but if it has I am sorry.

Here's the thing, I would like to thank blizzard for putting in some starter pvp gear. It gives lower skilled or less "time-available" players access to gear so they can stand a chance vs others with Glad or Vindicators. I was looking through the sets today, and I noticed you only had 2 of the 3 sets for paladins. (Ret / Holy)

Mage talent build 40/0/21

I've noticed an increasing number of Mages running around with a lot of points in Arcane, and I've been wondering why. So let's see if I can dissect Xykon's build and see what makes it tick. Xykon hails from H-Gorgonnash-US, and had quite a bit to say about his talent choices, which I always appreciate. Mage is one of the classes I've played the least (I think my highest is 20-something), so I'm not going to have as much replica watchesto say about this as I have in the past. This means I'm relying on you, friendly commenters, for some of the deep analysis.

Xykon's goals with this build: a strong DPS for World PvE and Raiding, with secondary goals of overcoming resistances and survivability. Although the majority of his points are in Arcane, he describes this build as a Frost build and says I primarily only use frost spells, with an occasional instant cast from the other two schools (fireblast and arcane explosion). Broadly speaking, this build goes down Arcane, grabbing all the stuff that would help damage and a little bit of survivability along the way, and goes for all the nice Frost stuff that boosts crits and crit chance and freezing and all that nice stuff.

Pushing the limits of a class trinity

Relmstein is at it again, this time with a look at class trinity in MMORPGs. This is old, old RPG strategy stuff-- basically almost every RPG out there is based around three different class roles: that of tank, DPS or healing. Tanks (like Warriors and Fighters) take damage, DPS classes (like Mage and Rogue) dish the damage out, and healing classes (obviously) keep the party alive long enough to win the battle. For a while now, game developers have tried to vary up this class trinity, so that you don't just have the same options in every game. In WoW, hybrid classes like Paladin and Shaman can play more than one role, and classes like Hunters and Warlocks have extra abilities (crowd control and buffing/debuffing) that help them be something more than what the class trinity lays out for them. Or there are classes like Druids, who can play all three roles at various times.

An experience of palying wow

When I came into this world (of Warcraft), I was innocent and unspoiled. I made some friends in Northshire Abbey. Rogue and Mage were their names. We had so much fun killing wolves and kobolds. Rogue would stab. Mage would nuke. I would Smite. Good times. We got a house together just outside Goldshire. It seemed kind of weird for three friends to live together, but we were poor and the house was cozy with a bedroom for each of us. We loved that house.

It wasn't until about level 5 or so when I noticed I wasn't the same as Rogue or Mage. My spells weren't doing nearly as much damage as Mage's Fireball or Rogue's Eviscerate. And I also noticed these odd spells in my spellbook that made health go up, not down. How am I supposed to kill monsters with those? I decided to keep these strange spells a secret. Rogue and Mage had certainly noticed that I was... different... but revealing this "Lesser Heal" spell to them would remove all doubt.

World of Warcraft: a game or a job

WoW is a game and is not a job. Although this may sound obvious to many of you, think about how you spend your time in WoW. You log on and farm something (honor or money) so you can get more gear to better farm something else.

This lead me to a very profound rhetorical question. Am I the only person who actually enjoys playing WoW without considering it a real grind?

Take for instance, honor. During the past couple weeks, I've been gathering a lot of it. Why? Simple.

which character should I stick with

My alt-itis has literally rendered me unable to play WoW. I sit at the screen, looking through characters, logging in and then switching characters. I just can't decide! So I need YOUR help. Help me pick which character I should stick with.

Here's the choices:

I actually got curious about one of those

I actually got curious about one of those "gold making is supereasy" sort of guides and bought one and it was totally not worth the money. Then again, Ive played the AH for as long as I can remember and dont really have ingame money issues. I can see it being a decent resource for someone on their first character, but truth be told, everyone Ive recomended taking up two gathering profs while leveling is usually very well off when it comes to gold anyway so its not that hard to begin with ;).

I played it for a long long time

Everquest, I played it for a long long time. I know there have been some expansions since I quit playing it however it was way way way more difficult than WoW. I played EQ on a PVE server and it was still much more difficult. The vast array of spells you get alone was mindboggling. There was a LOT more area and if you didn't have a wizard to port you around you did a LOT of walking or riding if you were lucky enough to have the insane amount of money required to buy a faster mount. Also, you had to sell things through the bazaar.. basically you parked your char in the bazaar and sold stuff off him.. there was no AH. Also, there weren't instances when i played, several guilds would camp epic mobs often waiting long periods of time for them to repop. Even then the droreplica watchesp you need you may not get. My guild spent 800 hours played working on one epic drop. If you died, you did not get a whispy wonderful ghost to go and recover your body with. You popped up at your bind spot completely naked and would often die several times just trying to get your corpse back. You could get a necro to summon your corpse to the beginning of the zone but that was very expensive. Each time you went to a new "zone" you would get a loading screen...this was very tedious.

their guild disbanded

So, I replied back and informed them that their response was rude, childish and unacceptable, and that they were doing a great disservice to the community that they puported to support by not allowing their membership to even know about the changes, have any conversations about it, or even hint at it. In short, Darknest is keeping its membership, in the dark. I am sure there will be a lot of ERP'ers that will be unhappy to learn that, had they known, their account did not have to be locked or deleted, and their guild disbanded.

Give me a few minutes to convert and upload them

Designer's Island and the small Outland-like island appear to be gone too. I just swam out and it seems a large chunk of the map has been removed. And as for my method, I'd rather not post it. If the info gets out, Blizz will fix it, and we won't be able to do it. But it's pretty simple to figure out.. Edit: I will post images of the edge of the map where the water stops, and my character stuck at the edge, and then dead. Give me a few minutes to convert and upload them..
